Training Program on Disaster Management
A One Day Workshop cum Training Program on Disaster
Management was organized by the Disaster Management Committee, Fazl Ali College
in collaboration with the Fire and Emergency Services Department, Mokokchung on
29th March 2022 at the College Auditorium. Disaster strikes without
warning and so to make the students acquainted with the various phenomenon and
mitigation associated with natural as well as man-made disaster the program was
initiated. The aim was also to equip the students with the basic concepts on
how to be prepared for any kind of eventuality and train them the techniques of
evacuation and rescue operation for proper mitigation specially in case of fire
emergency.
The program was chaired by Dr. R. Bendangtemjen with a
welcome address delivered by the Principal Dr. Temjenwabang. The officers and personnel
from the Fire and Emergency Services Department gave a hands-on training on the
basic rescue and evacuation techniques in case of an outbreak of fire or fire
emergency. The different means and ways to provide first aid to the injured was
also demonstrated to the students. A mock drill followed after the program
where a hands-on training on handling the fire-extinguisher was given to the
students, non-teaching staff and the teachers.
